Merry Christmas and HNY to everyone back home.
Of course being in the southern hemisphere - that means here in Australia it's currently Easter.
My parents are back in Australia, they are one a three-month-around-the-world-spending-my-inheritance-trip.
Me and Rach have flown a couple of times around Australia to meet them.
It is very odd doing short flights for holidays in Australia - it's not the same in Europe - for example, I flew home, straight to work one morning.
It was weird getting off a flight and going to work. There's just something in my genes where disembarking a two-hour flight I just feel the need to go to a bar owned by Gary Lineker's brother.
Our first trip was to Melbourne, where I celebrated turning 30 years of age.
I don't really feel thirty. I still go to work wearing a cap with my favourite football team on.
Melbourne is largely made up of a river, slow moving trams and stadiums.
We were actually in one of those stadiums on a Sunday morning at 6am to watch the Australian football team take on Argentina in the World Cup Round of 16. That was on large screens by the way, they didn't recreate the game play-by-play with actors or anything.
It was a momentous event for the Socceroos to get out of the group stage - normally they do that by not being in the group stage originally.
It was great fun watching the Socceroos journey in the world cup alongside England - especially as they posed no threat.
I've still got World Cup fever really - I watched England win against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup before they went onto win the whole damn thing.
I've also got tickets to the Women's FIFA World Cup next year - looking forward to seeing the Lionesses not cope with the heat.
Another thing we did in Melbourne was go for a Teppenyaki meal. If you haven't heard of this - its Japanese food cooked on a hot plate and then after the meal they play games where they launch food at your face. I'm not exactly selling it am I?
The New Year will indeed bring in a new dawn for me as I start a new job. I have been hired to be the Executive Producer of the Rush Hour on Rock/Sport/Comedy station Triple M. The closest british equivalent would be Absolute Radio, except the one key difference is Triple M haven't outright refused to hire me for a number of years.
It means my time (just over a year) at Brisbane's 4BC Newstalk will come to end, which is shame as I have enjoyed my time there, but hopefully the good times will get better.
Christmas is Brisbane was as great as ever. I did have to attend mass to please some family members - something I've managed to avoid for a good decade or so now.
Before the show (is it a show?) there were carols sung. Each one was introduced by a man shouting "And now for number 3" etc. You can imagine my embarrassment when he called for everyone to sing the Number 1 and there I am the only one belting out a bit of LadBaby.
We shall be spending New Years at a music festival where the line up consists of Lil Nas X, Arctic Monkeys and The Wiggles.
Abrupt end.
